We still need to get RenVM a little more mature because any changes made on low-level protocol stuff affects changes in how you run it on secure hardware, which have particular constraints

If you just sent the btc to the gateway adress the bridge created for you, yes you gotta mint, then you get renbtc. If you want btc again, you then can burn / release it back to btc.

More options the better for decentralisation (and to protect against vulnerabilities that might be found in any one of them). We have actually been able to get the DN software running entirely within trusted hardware! This is a huge step, and required a bit of finagling. But, now we are designing specific features to take full advantage of this new capability. Will be a big boon to RenVM’s security.

Tai published a blog post that described all the benefits of Asylo and all that can be built on top of it but then silence afterwards and we never heard about Asylo again in the roadmap
